Kylie Minogue filmed her first ever music video for her debut single “Loco-motion” at Essendon Airport.

Hailing from Camberwell, Kylie Minogue rose to fame as Charlene on Neighbours and went on to establish herself as the Princess of Pop.

“It all happened pretty quickly, but Kylie was young and she came from a strong family,” Michael Gudinski said.

Written in 1962 by Carole King and Gerry Goffin, “The Loco-Motion” has been covered by numerous recording artists over the years, but arguably none so well as Kylie Minogue. An iconic song to kick off an iconic music journey.

“The video was recorded at Essendon Airport the day after I signed on as Kylie’s manager,” said Terry Blamey, Kylie’s manager for the first 25 years of her career. “Look closely and you’ll see a glimpse of Kylie’s brother Brendan at the end of the clip.”
