Hangar 4 was constructed and opened by Prime Minister Joseph Lyons.
Designed by architect Howard Garnet Alsop, it was Australia’s largest hangar at the time. The building was the primary ANA (Australian National Airways Ltd) hangar and terminal in Australia.
