In 1950 Building 40 was constructed to accommodate the as the Area Approach Control Centre for Melbourne and Victoria.

The building housed the DCA’s development of electronic air-navigation equipment, which was world leading technology at the time.

Now our Essendon Fields Medical Centre calls this building home on the ground floor, with offices claiming the upper.
